The problem of side friction often occurs on roads in commercial areas, such as Jalan Tamansari, Tasikmalaya city. Along Jalan Tamansari, Tasikmalaya city, there are shops which result in side barriers due to community activities. Apart from that, the temporary stop of vehicles, vehicles going in and out of the area around the road and pedestrian activity, affect the smoothness of traffic so that it has an impact on the level of road service. The ratio of vehicle volume to the Tamansari road in Tasikmalaya City is taken as an average of 0.57, occurring on Mondays 07.00 – 08.00 with a traffic volume ratio of 1240 pcu/hour. And the free flow speed of Tamansari Tasikmalaya City is 37.72 km/hour, capacity is 2161 pcu/hour and the average degree of saturation is 0.57. The level of service for Jalan Tamansari Tasikmalaya City is at level C. with characteristics, steady flow with moderate traffic volume and speed starting to be limited by traffic conditions, moderate traffic density, internal traffic barriers starting to affect speed, and the driver still has enough freedom to choose his speed and the road lane used.
