Congestion on a road section in commercial or shopping areas is caused by an imbalance between increased vehicle ownership and the growth of available infrastructure facilities and the effective capacity of road sections that are smaller than the planned road capacity due to roadside obstacles such as parking activities on the road. This study was motivated by congestion that occurred due to parking activities on the road in the shopping and market areas on Pangeran Muhamad road, Majalengka Regency, the road was supposed to be intended for smooth traffic flow, but in fact on the road sections there was an effective reduction in traffic width due to parking activities on the road. This study aims to determine the characteristics of parking on road sections and determine how these road sections perform. The parking characteristics on the road use a parking pattern on two sides of the road with each side of the parking pattern for motorcycles 90º and light vehicles of 0º. The method in this study uses observation and recording methods directly in the field to obtain data as reference material for conducting data processing analysis. Analysis for data processing used formulas or steps contained in the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) were used. The results of study show that the performance of the Pangeran Muhamad Road section of Majalengka Regency was the capacity of Pangeran Muhamad Road of 2705,63 smp, and the highest degree of saturation being 0.60 with the level of service C occurring on Sundays and the lowest average degree of saturation being 0.56 with the level of service C occurring on Tuesdays.
