Airplanes are one of the transportation modes that play a crucial role in meeting passenger mobility. As time goes by, the interest and need for air transportation among the public have also increased. Therefore, the Indonesian government has made the right decision to build airports in various regions of Indonesia.
The development of airports in Indonesia helps with development and also the economy in Indonesia, especially in remote and farthest regions of the country. This research aims to plan the runway pavement at Wiriadinata Airport using the Federal Aviation Administration method. (FAA)xc
Using forecasting methods, it is estimated that there will be a total of 1,872 aircraft movements in 2034, with the Boeing 737-800 as the priority aircraft. Based on the calculations using the FAA method, which utilizes forecasting data as annual departures, a runway pavement thickness of 32 inches is required. (81 cm). This thickness indicates a difference of 21 cm thicker compared to the existing runway pavement at Wiriadinata Airport currently. This result emphasizes the need to increase the thickness of the pavement to support the rising volume of flights and ensure operational safety in the future.
