Abstract

Roads play a crucial role in supporting economic, social, and cultural activities. However, various factors such as high vehicle volume, road age, and poor drainage can lead to road damage. This study aims to evaluate the level of road damage on the Winduraja – Warudoyong road section (STA 0+000 - STA 3+000) as a basis for determining the necessary repairs. The methods used are the Surface Distress Index (SDI) and Pavement Condition Index (PCI).

The SDI method evaluates road damage based on the width and area of cracks, the number of potholes, and wheel ruts. Meanwhile, the PCI method assesses the condition of the pavement based on the type, severity, and extent of damage. The study results indicate that certain segments of the road are experiencing light to moderate damage, which may affect the comfort and safety of road users. By using the SDI and PCI methods, this study produces road damage values that can serve as a basis for determining repair priorities.

The survey results show that the road surface condition has an average SDI value of 108, which is categorized as light damage. The average PCI value is 36, which falls into the poor category. The dominant types of damage found are alligator cracking, potholes, and ruts. The discussion of these results indicates that significant damage affects the comfort and safety of road users.
