Abstrak

Drainage channels are one of the complementary buildings on roads in meeting one of the technical requirements for road infrastructure. Highway drainage channels function to drain water that can disturb road users, so that the road body remains dry. In general, highway drainage channels are open channels using gravity to drain water towards the outlet. The distribution of flow in the drainage channel to this outlet follows the contours of the main road, so that surface water will flow more easily by gravity. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of the drainage channel on the road in Wanareja District, Cilacap Regency and to determine the ideal drainage channel to handle frequent flood inundations.

The method used in this research is direct measurement in the field (observation) by taking the existing channel data which consists of the coordinates of each channel for each stationing, field contour data, and channel dimensions. Then the data is processed to determine the condition of the drainage channel which will be used for analysis of the ideal channel capacity to address the problems that exist in the research location.

The results of this study can be concluded that the Existing Condition of Drainage on Jalan Cihandiwung, Wanareja District, Cilacap Regency cannot accommodate rainwater runoff with the condition of Channel Width (B) = 0.5 meters, Channel Height (h) = 0.5 meters. Then an analysis is carried out by redesigning the ideal dimensions, namely Channel Width (B) = 0.5 meters, Channel Height (h) = 0.95 meters.
