Etika Publikasi

Moderat : Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Pemerintahan (e-ISSN : 2622-691X) is a journal published by the Government Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Galuh University. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the process of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, chief editor, editorial board, reviewers and publisher. This statement of the scientific publication code of ethics is based on the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.

The Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values ​​in publication, namely (i) Neutrality, namely freedom from conflicts of interest in publication management; (ii) Justice, namely granting authorship rights to those entitled to be authors; and (iii) Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism in publications.

 Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

Publication of an article in a Moderat reviewed journal is an important building block in the development of a coherent and recognized knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. The reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, reviewers, publishers and the public.

Government Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Galuh University as the publisher of the Moderat journal takes the task of maintaining all stages of publishing very seriously and we are aware of our ethics and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue does not impact or influence editorial decisions. In addition, the Government Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Galuh University and the Editorial Board will assist in communication with other journals and/or publishers, which is useful and necessary.

Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The journal manager determines the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, membership of the editorial board, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Journal managers make code of ethics guidelines for editors and bestari partners, and apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyrights.
  3. Journal managers are obliged to prepare permits and legal aspects of publishing journals, publish journals regularly, and build a network of cooperation and marketing.
  4. Conduct journal policy reviews and submit them to authors/writers, board of editors, bestari partners, and readers.
  5. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and bestari partners.

Editor Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published. The validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive those decisions. Editors can be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by applicable legal provisions, such as defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
  2. The editors at all times evaluate manuscripts for the intellectual content of the authors without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political views of the authors.
  3. The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other appropriate editorial boards, and publisher, as appropriate.
  4. The editor strives to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis, maintains the integrity of the author's academic track record, submits corrections, clarifications, withdrawals and apologies when necessary.
  5. The editor is responsible for the style and format of the paper, while the contents and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author.
  6. Unpublished material in a submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.

Duties and Responsibilities of Best Partners/Reviewers

  1. Bestari partners assist editors in making editorial decisions and assist authors in improving the quality of manuscripts through the editor.
  2. Bestari partners are responsible for the recommendations of the manuscripts they review.
  3. Bestari partners are responsible for maintaining the privacy of authors by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input and recommendations.
  4. Bestari partners conduct reviews objectively, and state their views clearly with supporting arguments.
  5. Papers are reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the published environment based on scientific principles.

 Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. The author must present the results of his thoughts or research in a clear, honest and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, data manipulation and plagiarism.
  2. Authors must indicate references to the opinions and works of others cited.
  3. An author may not publish manuscripts that describe the essence of the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  4. In one publication, the author is not allowed to publish more than 1 (one) title as the first author.
  5. Authors must write manuscripts ethically, honestly and responsibly in accordance with applicable scientific writing regulations.
  6. The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted for the manuscript that has been written.
