About the Journal

JAMASAN: Journal of History Education Students is an academic journal that publishes scholarly works by students in the fields of history education and historical studies. The journal holds an E-ISSN 3123-3899 and is published three times a year, in February, June, and October, under the ISSN Decree issued by the National Research and Innovation Agency of Indonesia (BRIN), Decree No. 31233899/II.7.4/SK.ISSN/12/2025, dated December 15, 2025.

The focus and scope of the JAMASAN Journal include

1. History Education, covering studies on the teaching and learning of history in schools and communities, curriculum development, educational values in historical contexts and figures, learning media and historical learning resources, as well as textbook studies;

2. Historical Study Materials, encompassing historiographical writing and historical discussions based on primary and secondary historical sources presented in critical narratives relevant to history learning; and

3. Historiography, which examines various historical themes in a chronological framework, such as the history of education, local history, maritime history, economic history, political history, social history, cultural history, public history, and other historical studies related to history or history education.

This research theme focuses on exploring the historical development, cultural evolution, and socio-political dynamics within specific local regions of Indonesia as well as the nation as a whole. It encourages the study of regional histories that have contributed to shaping Indonesia’s diverse identity, including the roles of local leaders, communities, traditions, and movements in national historical contexts. Research under this theme may examine how local heritage and historical events intersect with broader national narratives, enriching the understanding of Indonesia’s multifaceted past. By highlighting both regional specificities and national unity, this theme supports scholarly works that contribute to a deeper appreciation of Indonesia’s complexity in history education and offers valuable insights for teaching and preserving historical heritage.
